Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim al-Jaafari met on May 20, 2015 at the ministry's headquarters Turkish Ambassador accredited to Iraq Farouk Qaamakja.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways of developing them. They also reviewed the files that have been agreed upon with the joint Iraqi - Turkish Economic Committee, which held its meetings in Baghdad earlier this year.
The minister said Iraq is serious and assured in the implementation of agreements and activating memoranda of the bilateral understanding, stressing Iraq's desire to open itself to the world and in particular the neighboring countries which Iraq shares with them geographical and historical depth relations.
The Minister also pointed out that what is happening in Iraq need to intensify international efforts to help restoring security and stability of Iraq.
For his part, the Turkish ambassador asserted his country's support to the Government and people of Iraq in its war against terrorism and his country's keenness on activating bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding.
