FM receives a copy of credentials of the new Greek ambassador to Baghdad.

Foreign minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari received a copy of credentials of Greek ambassador to Baghdad Mr. Leonaides bi kontofinesyos on 13 November 2017 at the ministry's headquarter.

The Foreign Minister expressed Foreign Ministry readiness to provide all support to the diplomatic mission to increase the volume of cooperation and coordination between both countries. He called for the need to facilitate the granting of visas to Iraqis wishing to visit Athens and the necessity of supporting agreements between the two countries in all fields. Trade between the two countries and the continuation of the meetings of the Forum of Civilizations.


Dr. Al- Jaafari stressed on that Iraq has won the war against the terrorist gangs, and this victory achieved by the standing of friendly countries to his side, pointing to the need for continued support of the international community and contribute to the reconstruction of the infrastructure of Iraqi cities.


From his side, the new Greek ambassador to Baghdad stressed on his country's keenness to improve relations and deepen joint cooperation to serve the interests of the two countries, congratulating the Iraqi people on the victories achieved in its war against the terrorist gangs.


He stressed on that one of the priorities of his work is to facilitate the procedures for granting visas to Iraqis wishing to visit Greece because of their significant impact in deepening bilateral relations.
