FM meets with the ambassadors of the five permanent members of the Security Council in Baghdad.

Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met the ambassadors of France, Mr. Borno Obeyer, Britain Mr. Jonathan Boole Wilkes, Russia Mr. Maxime Maximov, China Mr. Chen Weiqing and the US Charge d'Affaires, Mr. Joey Hed, to discuss the overall political and security situation in Iraq and developments in the region.


The minister said during the meeting: Iraq has ended the chapter of Da'esh terroristic gangs, and their losses are large and left little to declare victory and the liberation of all territories of their grip, asserting: world in history unites as it didn't do before as with Iraq against gangs, or the countries outside the international coalition to stand with Iraq in the face of terrorism.


He added that Iraq has succeeded in maintaining its unity, and has attracted the countries of the world through bridges, and active presence on the issues of the region and the world and won several sites in important international organizations.


He pointed out that Iraq is looking forward to the continued support of friendly countries and contribute to the reconstruction of the infrastructure of Iraqi cities, noting: Iraq is a rich country but passed through difficult circumstances; the result of the security challenge of the war against terrorism, and the economic challenge of low oil prices and the cost of war, Countries that stand by it.


The Ambassadors of France, Britain, Russia and China, and the Charge d'affaires of the US Embassy, ​​reiterated their countries' support for Iraq in various fields, praising the great victories achieved by the Iraqis in their war against the terrorist gangs.
