FM meets Romanian Interior minister

Foreign minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met Romanian Interior minister Ms. Carmine Daniella Dan in Bucharest, to discuss the means of developing cooperation and coordination between both countries in different fields, especially security and countering terrorism.

HE said: We are keen to develop relations with Romania, move them into a long-term relationship and a variety of interests. We stress the importance of resuming the Joint Committee for its meetings as soon as possible, appreciating Romania's support for Iraq in its war against terrorist gangs.

from her part, Ms. Carmine Daniella Dan expressed her country's readiness to participate in the reconstruction of Iraq, training of medical personnel in the fields of first aid, and training the cadres of the Ministry of the Interior to combat crimes, rehabilitation of ports, river transport and the establishment of the "tramway" project in Baghdad, The opening of an air route between Baghdad and Bucharest.

And called for the signing of memorandums of understanding to strengthen cooperation between both countries, especially between the Romanian Ministries of Energy and Iraqi  ministry of oil.
